Seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Director to lead our Venue Manager team and help drive growth at our beautiful venue, Catalpa Grove. From 2019 to Dec of 2023, Catalpa Grove, hosted 389 events, with 297 of them being weddings. We have over 250 five-star reviews and voted the best Wedding Venue in Schuylkill County in 2022 and 2023. Hours: Varied based on work schedule

  • Must work at least four days per week on-site with the remaining hours remote.
  • Must work at least two weekends per month.

Job Description:

Drive overall Venue Revenue by:

  • Suggesting Marketing Campaigns (social/print/mass mail)
  • Be involved in community events, keeping representation of Catalpa Grove present.
  • Visiting/Calling businesses to increase corporate events / cabin stays.
  • Consistent and timely follow-up with leads to generate site-visits.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Lead/Coach Venue Managers

  • Provide leadership, guidance, motivation, and coaching to Venue Managers, promoting effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance, including annual reviews, of Venue Managers.
  • Audit contracts and other event documentation.
  • Manage schedules / staff assignments in coordination with Venue Managers.

Monitor and manage all aspects of events from lead generation through the end of the event, which includes but not limited to:

  • Responding to leads, tracking conversations, and e-mails within our Tripleseat CRM software.
  • Continued communication with clients, identifying their needs, while providing excellent guest satisfaction.
  • Schedule and meet with prospective clients for tours, showcasing our venue and help them envision having their special day with us.
  • Create contracts, upsell add-ons and services, compute and take payments.
  • Send checklists and other brochures as applicable.
  • Be present for event prep days, event days, and clean-up days, as either a manager or helper, as assigned.
  • Assist with tear-down and re-set for next event if applicable.

When you manage an event, you would be expected to:

  • Open the venue and help with any last-minute setup as needed.
  • Perform services as contracted for (such as water/bussing/etc.).
  • Ensure that the day-of is the best day possible, within your control, for the clients.
  • Coordinate vendors as applicable.

Any other duties as assigned.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive base pay based on experience + considerable bonus based on sales performance.

Included with your position is:

  • 15 PTO days (used for vacation or sick days), accrued per pay period and can be taken in advance with permission. This will increase to 20 PTO days after your second year of service.
  • Life Insurance of $25,000 is included at no charge to you after 60 days of service.
  • Additional benefits you may choose to participate in:
  • Effective on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period: Health, vision, and dental paid 70% company and 30% participant.
  • Effective third month of service: 401(k) retirement savings with up to 5% employer match.

Experience / Requirements:

  • 3+ years of event sales / hospitality experience
  • 4+ years of event management experience (ideally with weddings)
  • 4+ years managing others.
  • Proven track record of success in managing teams and achieving organizational goals
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and time management skills.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of Barnesville, PA
  • Able to lift 30lbs.
  • Able to pass drug screenings.
