Pioneer Pole Buildings | Outside Sales Trainee

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Outside Sales Trainee to learn all aspects of the pole building sales process. This position is designed as a comprehensive training role, providing hands-on experience in quoting, follow-ups, site visits, walk-in customer interactions, paperwork, problem-solving, and sales events. The training period will last approximately one (1) year, with opportunities for long-term growth upon successful completion.

Territory:

• Travel required across 7 states to meet with customers and attend sales-related events.

Position Type:

• Full-Time | First Shift (Daytime Hours)
Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and assist with quoting, customer follow-ups, and job estimates

• Conduct site visits and walk-in customer consultations

• Maintain accurate daily diaries and work logs

• Assist with training, paperwork, and problem resolution

• Participate in sales events, including:

• Trade shows

• Fairs

• Contractor events

• Promotional events

• Open building displays and sales days

• Attend monthly sales meetings

• Promote the sale of pole buildings through in-person engagement and events

• Perform other duties as assigned

A company vehicle, including maintenance, fuel, and insurance, will be provided after the training period is complete.

Qualifications :

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Related experience preferred, especially in:

• Construction

• Sales

• Pole buildings

• Building materials

• Proficiency with:

• Microsoft Word

• Microsoft Excel

• Microsoft Outlook

Position Requirements:

• First shift, daytime hours

• Saturday work on a rotating schedule (maximum of 18 Saturdays per year)

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workflow

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments

• Valid driver’s license required

• Ability to drive to customer appointments across 7 states

• Ability to lift to 20 lbs

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
