Arrow Studio & Events is a wedding and event venue in historic, downtown Pottsville, PA and we are rapidly growing! We focus on excellence, hospitality, providing our clients with creative freedom and alleviating stress around event planning.
Role Overview:
As an Event Host at Arrow Studio & Events, your role will be exciting, varied, and critical to the daily, monthly and annual operations at our venue. This role is active in the execution of events and you will be responsible for making sure they run smoothly and uphold our values of excellence, hospitality, creativity and organization.
This role is required to have part-time availability Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and work at least 2 days per month.
General Duties: (Include but are not limited to)
- Interface With Clients:
- This position has regular and direct interaction with future and current clients. The Event Host must always act with a level of professionalism that represents the venue well. This sometimes requires interacting with challenging personalities and it is critical that the Event Host is able to do so without losing patience.
- Coordinate With Key Vendors:
- It is the responsibility of the Event Host to confirm critical details of upcoming events with the Director and make sure all vendors easily unload, load, setup, and adhere to schedule and Arrow policies.
- Fulfill Event + Wedding Day Duties:
- The duties of a wedding/event day may include, but are not limited to: greeting the client, assisting vendors or the decorating team, managing challenges as they arise, keeping up and cleaning of bathrooms, disposal of trash throughout the event, client interaction throughout the event, supporting vendors, etc. It also may include the clean and reset of the venue to prepare for a wedding or event the following day.
- Prepare Venue For Upcoming Events:
- The Event Host is responsible for a pre-event and post-event checklist which includes checking the venue for preparedness and cleanliness.
- Assist In Creation Of Systems & Processes:
- As our venue is always growing and learning, we would expect the Event Host to assist in the organization of systems and processes to further improve our event day experience.
- Collaborate And Work With Other Event Hosts
- All weddings and large events have a minimum of two (2) event hosts present during the duration of the event. The Event Host must enjoy being a part of a team, have clear communication skills, and work as a unit with other Event Hosts.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this position has great attention to detail, naturally works well with others, and handles stressful situations without becoming overwhelmed. The candidate must operate well in environments where they are required to take direction, and also excel when it’s necessary to be a leader. We value servant leadership, and the ideal candidate will bring skill and heart to the team, and check ego at the door.
Job Requirements:
- Availability on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (at least 2 days per month) and potential weekday evening availability
- Bachelor’s degree or similar work experience in event planning or service industry is preferred
- Ability to confidently interact with clients, serve them well, and be a good listener
- Confident in the use of Microsoft programs, and Google products
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
