The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is offering Professional Presence: From Emails to the Podium, a four-part professional development workshop series led by Dean Bertsch. Designed to help professionals at every career level strengthen their communication skills, this series provides practical strategies for communicating more effectively, confidently, and professionally in the workplace.

Throughout four engaging sessions, participants will explore the fundamentals of effective communication, improve their business writing, sharpen their grammar skills, and develop the confidence to deliver compelling presentations.

Workshop Sessions

Session 1: Basic Communication Skills - October 23 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Build stronger professional relationships by mastering the fundamentals of effective communication, including active listening, understanding different communication styles, and communicating with clarity and confidence.

Session 2: Written Communication - October 30 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Learn how to craft clear, concise, and professional written communications. Explore strategies to eliminate unnecessary words, avoid common writing mistakes, and make every message more effective.

Session 3: Maximizing Your Professionalism – November 6 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Polish your professional image with a practical refresher on grammar, punctuation, word choice, and proofreading. Learn how to avoid common mistakes and communicate with greater accuracy and professionalism.

Session 4: Presentation Skills - November 13 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Take your confidence to the podium! Discover strategies for organizing effective presentations, connecting with your audience, overcoming public speaking anxiety, and delivering your message with clarity and conviction.

This four-part series will be facilitated by Dean Bertsch, who will guide participants through practical approaches to strengthening their everyday communication, written correspondence, and presentation skills.
